Description:

Dive into the exciting world of filmmaking through a four-day-per-week creative intensive. Participants can choose their primary interest or explore multiple areas — from script to screen. This program is designed to sharpen skills, encourage collaboration, and prepare students for future opportunities in the Film Cohort (October 2025 – May 2026).

Schedule Break Down

Monday – Creative Writing

Unlock your imagination and learn to tell compelling stories that audiences can’t forget. Students will explore story structure, character development, dialogue, and scene pacing while practicing scriptwriting for both short and feature-length projects. By the end of each session, you’ll have original written material ready to bring to life on screen.

Tuesday – Acting

Step into the spotlight and develop your on-camera presence. From audition techniques to scene study, improvisation, and emotional authenticity, students will learn how to bring characters to life for film and television. Actors will work with scripts from Monday’s writing class and collaborate with production teams for hands-on experience.

Wednesday – Photography & Videography

Master the art of visual storytelling through the lens. Students will learn camera operation, framing, lighting, and composition for both still and moving images. This session also introduces editing basics to create polished work, empowering students to contribute to film projects and capture powerful behind-the-scenes moments.

Thursday – Film Production Management & Coordination

Behind every great production is a team that keeps it running smoothly. Students will learn scheduling, budgeting, set safety, crew organization, and communication skills essential for successful projects. This class is perfect for those who want to lead productions, manage film crews, or coordinate festival submissions.

Important Participation Note

Students may attend multiple days, but to be considered for the Film Cohort, you must regularly attend sessions for your primary interest area.

  • Example: If you want to be considered as an actor on most projects, you must attend most Tuesday Acting sessions.
